Book Synopsis
THE BOOK OF ESTHER
God will cause you to be invited to stages and to platforms that you never dreamed you’d been invited to. When the favor of God is on your life, God will give you promotions, even though others may have the inside tract. In spite of the fact that they’ve got the inside tract, and all the hookups, God still lets you get it. That’s called favor! When somebody else is more qualified than you, more educated than you; if you put your resume beside theirs or if you put it on paper, they should have gotten the job. But because favor was on your side, you got the job instead of them. When favor is on your side, God will make banks loan you money and you don’t have good credit. When favor is on your side, people will count you out, but God will count you back in. When favor is on your side, God will open doors that no man can close. When God’s favor is on your life/side, God will put you in a unique position to help others. While God’s name is not mentioned in the Book of Esther, you can rest assured that God was working behind the scenes to manage the entire situation. God, who sees life from beginning to end was moving everything into place in order to bring about His plans and purposes for HIS people. He was using the unfortunate consequences of Vashti’s obedience. She was fired from being queen, but God used that to secure a future for his people. While Vashti was not Jewish, while she knew nothing about the God of Israel, she set an extraordinary example of personal integrity and obedience because she did what was right. She refused to remove her veil. There is one whose example of obedience far exceeds that of Queen Vashti. Jesus was the ultimate example of how not to take your veil off. All throughout his life, Jesus was obedient. The Bible says he was in all points tempted just like we are, yet he was without sin. He refused to remove the veil of his obedience and the veil of his self-respect. Then the devil took him up on the top of a temple and told him to jump and the angels will catch him. But Jesus said, “It is written, you shall not tempt the Lord, thy God.” Keep your veil on. Hold your head up, even if you have to walk alone.
