This book records the story and family history of Harold and Naomi Dubs of Hanover PA. It is written with desire to pass down to future generations a testimony of God's faithfulness. (Updated July 2022 with corrections and an addendum from the summer of 2021).

From Little Black Bonnet to Oatmeal Box Wedding Veil is the recounting of the first thirty years in the life of Esther Hershberger Gingerich. Esther writes of her earliest memories, her growing up years, the uncertain teen years, and the early years of her marriage. Born in 1943 into a struggling Amish family, Esther experienced many moves, changes, new schools, and hand-me-downs. Playing with her two brothers on the farm was sometimes hilarious and sometimes downright dangerous. She tells of the trauma of leaving the Amish and the agony of losing a brother. Under girding all the uncertainties of her life were the faith, love and support of her parents and extended family.

Dr Joan Rawlins was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica, and spent her early years in Savanna- la-Mar, where she attended Manning’s High School. At age fourteen, she migrated to the United Kingdom with her parents. On completion of High School in the UK, she embarked on a brief, but empowering education in the field of “health”, graduating as a registered nurse (SRN), a qualified Midwife (SCM) and as a Health Visitor (Public Health Nurse) in five years. Following her nursing education, she married and returned to the Caribbean, where she attended the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica, obtaining the BSc. and MSc. degrees in Social Sciences. This book is about a woman who lived her life without Jesus Christ and made mistakes until she found the strength to allow the Lord to redirect her path from all the havoc that she entertained living for lustful and sinful behavior patterns. The tactics of people, places, and things had her caught between what was seemly dark ended results repeatedly. Until she completely surrender unto the Lord and allowed Jesus Christ to rule in her life with her whole actuality with surrendering totally unto our Lord and allowing His will to be fixed and not the desires she once sought after from living a ungodly lifestyle.

This volume has three sections; the first is an autobiographical account of Anna Beardsley Ashmun's life from her birth in 1883 to her marriage to Otis L. Linn in 1907. Sections II and III follow the genealogy of Anna's Ashmun and Beardsley roots from the arrival of both families in New England in the 1600s. The primary audience for the book is the descendants of Anna Ashmun and Otis L. Linn. The appendix for this book is published in a separate volume and is available at TheBookPatch bookstore.
