Libby Leff Katz aka Bubbie raised four devilishly handsome boys: Erik, Steven, David, and Ted. These growing boys had voracious appetites and essentially ate Bubbie and Poppy out of house and home. If you are curious, Poppy often ate the scraps left behind by the boys unless, of course, Bubbie was making pan-fried liver and onions. In addition to making traditional 1970s and early 80s fare that you could find in many American-Jewish kitchens, Bubbie loved to bake. Who hasn't savored her famous Mandel Bread? During Passover, she cooked traditional dishes that had been passed down over generations. Surprisingly, the boys all kept Passover "in the house".

This book is a follow up to my first cookbook, "Seasons in the Kitchen with Mama Farrelli", which was a compilation of seasonal recipes that I had used over the years when I was a stay-at-home mom. I loved cooking for my family and entertaining. Many of the recipes I included were handed down from my grandma, my mom (Grandma Sallie) and my mother-in-law (Grandma Marge). My kids are adults now, so I don't do as much every day cooking, but I do love to entertain. Still seasonal, this book focuses on menus for entertaining family and friends.

Every newsletter I’ve produced for my street team and readers group, I’ve asked for recipes. Quick and easy or simple recipes that any of my readers and street team could prepare. Many of the group is working parents, single, or a couple. Having a recipe to fall back on busy work nights, needing help with homework evenings, or even having worked overtime is a blessing. Sharing these recipes often brought members of the group and team together. After a while, the idea of putting all these recipes in one place came to mind. From a young age, Chef Rey was interested in cooking, learning from his mother and grandmother. Yet, when it came time to attend college, he put his culinary passions aside and attended Texas A&M University. Upon graduation, he pursued a career in the oil and gas industry as an Operations Manager for Andon Specialties, Inc.
