Book Synopsis
This book is written by Alix Harpelle and has been out of print and unavailable for years. It was introduced to me by "Tundra" Tom Faess in 2006. After trying for years to get a copy, the University of Saskatchewan Library loaned me a copy.

"This book follows the life of a truly remarkable man, Gus D'Aoust, one of the oldest white trappers of the Northwest Territories. He has lived alone in the North for most of his eighty-nine years and despite the many hardships he has encountered, he never lost his love for his northern home. Through reading his various experiences, one cannot help but be profoundly struck by his courage, determination, resourcefulness, faith, and above all, his deeply felt love and appreciation for life in the Barren Land."
