Book Synopsis
“I’m NOT going without God!” is a book that grew out of a series of teachings that we embarked on as a church at the outset of 2022. During our New Year’s Eve service, God led us to consider those words as they were spoken by Moses to God as he and Israel were making a hasty escape from Egypt and from their era of captivity. Moses boldly told God that going the way of the wilderness was a daunting task and leading the people of God was an even more daunting and significant task to attempt to do it in his human strength and human wisdom. Moses who was lauded in scripture as having spoken face-to-face with God leaned in that day and asserted himself and said that he was not comfortable going any further on the journey without the assurance that God would be with them all of the way.
After two years like we’ve experienced in 2020 and in 2021, which seemed like they were repeat acts of nature with natural disasters coming at us from every corner of the earth—earthquakes, tornados, forest fires, hurricanes, and blasts of wintry weather, all while still enduring the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic. We went through two years of uncertainty, economic strain, frustrations from forced social distancing and political unrests. To go forward following the same rules and with the same attitudes and making the same decisions but expecting new results would have been insanity in its purest form. It was necessary that we make the same decision that Moses made, and that was to commit to going with God, in a real way.
