Book Synopsis
While staying with her grandfather one summer, Emma gains the trust of a head-shy horse called Dooley. Emma learns to communicate in ways horses understand and is rewarded with Dooley's love.
This story is perhaps more poignant as Dooley is a real horse, who is head-shy. All the interactions described in the book between Emma (a made up character) and Dooley actually occurred with the author.
