Book Synopsis
Grief is a concept that we can all relate to. Be it in relation to death, sickness, betrayal, job loss, or the like. This counseling handbook will take the reader through the journey of the grieving process utilizing a Bibliocentric model. In my praying to The Lord about a model for grief, He revealed to me the mnemonic: “A.C.T. I.N. F.A.I.T.H.” “B.E.L.I.E.F”. “Faith” itself is a golden thread running throughout all three components of the model. Part 1 looks at the counseled. Part 2 explores the “counselor-counselee link”. Part 3 examines requirements of the counselor. Part 4 explains the importance of transitioning the counseled into independence. Part 5 introduces the transition component in which the counseled is able to function independent of the counselor. Part 6 of this handbook is devoted to an examination of characteristics of children’s grief in respect to their chronological age, while part 7 presents some general strategies in and for the counseling process.
