Book Synopsis
This book is a compilation of short stories of life, as seen through the eyes of a rural police officer. There are incidents from his younger life, which carry into how he became what he is, what he believed, and things he worked through. The majority of his career was served in a large county. He often patrolled alone and had to get himself out of whatever he got himself into. No day was the same, and no person responded the same. There were times of fear, anger, disappointment, and sickening tragedies. He believes law enforcement is a calling, and as a field training officer tried to inspire interns to become good public servants, because they are certainly needed. He wrote about a portion of what he went through to give a glimpse into what it was like. All the stories are true and tend to avoid the worst of the incidents that many officers witness. He chose rather to lean mostly towards the side of levity in the vocation.
