This book is meant to be a guide and not a treatise about relationships. It outlines the basics that you need to know in order to create and maintain a long-lasting relationship in this modern era. By "modern era" I mean the post 1970's when all the rules changed that governed relationships. Today's young people are part of a confused generation, and this book will tell them what to do about it.

This book is about all the miracles that have happened to me since I found God in 1982 at a meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. I have lived both a tragic and miraculous life, but I found myself and I found God. I am strong and happy. I believe that as you go through life, God will be with you whether you acknowledge him or not. You will be the beneficiary of his grace whether you admit this or not. He will love you and there is nothing you can do about it. But if you do acknowledge God, and become grateful for his mercy and grace, the miracles will increase. This book is a compilation of Susan Peabody’s writings about recovery. Recovery is the process of healing the wounds of your past in the company of other survivors. Recovery is an ongoing process and needs constant attention. Susan is best known for her book, Addiction to Love. Many of you know her as the co-founder of Love Addicts Anonymous.

This recovery workbook has been a long time coming. I have written it in the hope of introducing people to the wonder of journaling, creating an inventory, and setting goals. While writing, things occur to us that may not have otherwise seeped up from our unconscious. Writing also reinforces what we have learned and acts as a bench mark affirming our progress. Susan Peabody is best known for her work in the field of recovery from love addiction and her first book, Addiction to Love: Overcoming Obsession & Dependency in Relationships. She has also written, The Art of Changing: Your Path to a Better Life, Recovery Workbook for Love Addicts & Love Avoidants, and Where Love Abides. One of the most helpful little books that I have read recently is The Art of Changing, Your Path to a Better Life by Susan Peabody. In a concise way she hits the big items involved when a person gets serious about changing their life for the better, i.e. willingness, taking action, getting help, helping others, building self-esteem, embracing spirituality, treating depression, healing the wounds of the past, and forgiving ourselves and others.
