These designs are for wax-resist egg decorating. Pysanky (Ukrainian Easter eggs) purists would not consider these eggs to be Pysanky because the designs are not traditional. They range from quilt patterns to mandalas to Islamic geometry, and many more.

Pysanky are eggs decorated, batik style, with wax and dyes; the art form is from Ukraine and many other cultures of Eastern Europe. This book offers repetitive patterns made on graph paper suitable for eggs, with the hopes that egg artists will use them as springboards to further design expressions. There are also instructions for creating the grids on eggs.
