The Gospel is an explanation of who Jesus is, and what Jesus did for his people over two thousand years ago. The Gospel converts the elect; it pronounces the elect, who are unrighteous in themselves, to be righteous. The Bible says the Gospel “is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth” (Romans 1:16). The elect are brought to faith by understanding and believing the Gospel, which is found throughout the Bible.
