Scholarly literature does not indicate to what extent a legislator’s political affiliations within the four regions of the U.S. impact firearms legislation. This study showed research evidence that assessed whether there was a relationship, if any, among the North, South, East, and West U.S. regions that supported increased firearms legislation, while others were more restrictive with firearms legislation.
