The third volume of Balanta B'Urassa, My Sons: Those Who Resist Remains covers the history of the Balanta people from the time of the first arrival of Portuguese to the coast of Guinea Bissau until the capture of Siphiwe Baleka's great, great, great, great, great grandfather, his arrival in the Carolinas, and his enslavement by the Blake family. This is the book that explains Balanta life prior to the European trans Atlantic slave trade and the who, what, where, when and how the majority of Balanta people ended up in North America.
