The names of many of the characters in the story are the neighbors and shirttail relatives I knew or heard about from my mother and her siblings. Some characters are real with fictitious names; some characters are fictitious with names of real people. I played with Sandra Rae and Mickey Wells, and Barbara Ann Bennington. Wendell Patterson took me for a short ride on his two-wheeler bicycle when I was four. Lucille Patterson Mauk was my mom’s best friend since early childhood. This book is about the author’s visit to the Jennett Cemetery in Simpson County, Kentucky in July, 2022 to assess the condition of the cemetery and photograph the graves of William M. Neely (1800-1845) and his wife, Eliza Neely. William M. Neely was the oldest of three sons of Edward Neely (born ~1770, died late 1828 or early 1829) from New York, who served as the first sheriff of Simpson County from 1819 to 1821.

This book is a compilation of letters written by the wife of a USAF pilot while she lived in Vietnam during the year, 1964. Her husband was assigned to Bien How, an Air Force base outside Saigon. She was not authorized to accompany her husband, so she went on her own and lived in Saigon, there she was able to see her husband from time to time.. She lived through a cholera epidemic, a coup, as well as bombings in the city of Saigon. She overcame many challenges but also experiences many joyful occasions, and came away with a great fondness of the Vietnamese people and their country.
