Norman Gerstenzang, a native of Brooklyn, New York, graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1947 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree and from the University of Denver College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. He was a Registered Professional Engineer in New York, Montana, and Colorado. His career in construction management included projects such as a new building cost estimating system. He was a professorial lecturer at The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.; he taught law for engineers at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia.
