His desire to participate at Salem in the Humanics program led to his work fulltime as a YMCA Director “replacing” William “Bill” Bellick, the ‘Y’ Director at Norristown, (Bill perished putting out a fire at camp when Ivan was 15 years old). At the young age of six, Ivan began his fundraising activities at the YMCA in town when he and others sold Cashmere Bouquet soap door-to-door to help purchase game room equipment and go to camp.
After graduation from Salem, he began his professional service and has served more than 100 not-for-profit organizations as either a paid professional nonprofit fundraiser/consultant or providing in-kind services. Ivan has raised over $90 million for a variety of projects through campaigns and/or grants. He has written more than 750 grants in his career.
