This is a historical account of one of the founding families of Texas: the Bells. It spans 100 years of history, and includes private family photos, as well as public information.
This book starts with the first generation to abandon the U.S. to settle a foreign land: from the 1822 entry of Josiah Hughes Bell into “Coahuila y Tejas” across a flooded Sabine river, through three generations of Texans, and the birth of his great-granddaughter (the author’s grandmother) Florence Whitis Bell into the luxury of 1897 Austin.
