Book Synopsis
Atlantis is a city of legend around the Mediterranean Sea and beyond. But the Rainthyaians, who have been at war with Atlantis for centuries, are willing to do anything required to see Atlantis annihilated. The war is not going well for Atlantis. They are on the brink of their beloved city being destroyed a second time, but this time, they may not survive. They dream of freedom. What they don’t know is that true freedom is closer than they think.
Wayne Qynsan and his younger sister, Ruby, are part of the Atlantican royalty, but they both feel that there could be more that they can do for their country. They join the military, and they soon learn of the Savior, Jesus Christ, who had come several decades earlier. Everyone in Wayne and Ruby’s division feels drawn by the message of salvation as well. All they have to do to be saved is accept the gift Jesus is offering to all mankind before they die. But staying alive while they battle their pride might not be as easy as it sounds.

Maria R. Babione has sought to glorify God in all her writing, and I believe she has done just that. Apart from being an incredible story with twists and turns and characters that I wish were real, The Atlantican Dream has a plot that walks you through the salvation stories of the characters. It is not only convicting but also encouraging. The author mixes time periods in her book as well, setting a scene I have never imagined before. Overall, I liken this book (and hopefully the ones to follow!) to the Lord of the Rings series but with technology instead of magic and with characters more like us today. I am very much looking forward to The Annals of Atlantis Book 2, Maria!
