Book Synopsis
The 72 Hour Shootout is exciting, fun and empowering! It is an annual global filmmaking competition, run by the Asian American Film Lab, that celebrates gender and ethnic diversity in film and television. It’s your chance to tell YOUR story, take risks and be bold! The top ten films are showcased at prestigious film festivals in New York City and Los Angeles and all films have the potential to be selected for televised broadcast via Film Lab Presents and/or on AAFL TV.

In the Shootout, teams have 72 hours within which to complete a short film of 5 minutes or under. It can also be overwhelming, especially if you have never shot a film before or have very little experience. Don’t worry! Take a look at these tips and maximize your production value and the efficiency of your shoot! With some pre-planning and a good attitude, you can create a great short film that showcases the creative content you want the world to see and you can do it within 72 hours.
