Book Synopsis
It is not known whether dragons truly grazed across the Hearthlands before the dwarves first sailed from the Sea of Saga; a tale passed down through their generations. What is known, however, is that dwarves and great beasts have long rivaled one another. The Dwarven walls of Orebor have withstand generations of dragon fire, going back as far as the Great Purge, when the dwarves brutally slaughtered many of the mighty creatures, of which dwelled in the caverns under Orenok Mountain; where afterwards the Kingdom of Orebor was constructed. The dwarves viewed the beasts as savage monsters, whose hunger was never fulfilled with ravaging of dwarfish blood.
