About The Author
Lisa Hayward is an artist who specializes in permanent paintings of birds, flowers, fruits, animal prints, seasonal, and more on usable glass (such as vintage & new jars, salt & pepper shakers, shot & wineglasses, vases). She also hand-paints one-of-a-kind ornaments on stained glass pieces and hand-paints magnets from hand-cut wooden squares and reclaimed 1930s tiny floor tiles.
She has participated in arts and crafts fairs around the country for more than 50 years and has won honors including “Outstanding Artist” at multiple shows.
Inspired by a customer who said “I would buy anything you paint with a chicken on it”, Lisa created a wooden Christmas ornament featuring a chicken. She named the chicken “Suzy” and began telling the ever-evolving story of Suzy to everyone who would listen. In time the story became an amazing children's book with original illustrations.
