Book Synopsis
Facing an Islamic extremist armed with a grenade launcher, Billy finds himself in a life and
death situation. A fellow U.S. Marine lies trapped in a burning Humvee, while a young boy is
pinned down under machine gun fire amid the nauseating odor of burning flesh. A Black Hawk
helicopter unleashes a Hellfire missile reducing a building filled with warring Jihadist to rubble.
These are the images that are frozen in his mind haunting Him. Billy has just returned to
Spillerville after spending four-years away while serving as a U.S. Marine in the Iraqi War. The
fatigue of combat has taken its toll on him. It is a bitter/sweet moment coming home.
Flashbacks are a common experience among combat veterans, and Billy is no exception. After
returning to his beloved home he is faced with yet another battle, an unexpected funeral. The
funeral causes Billy’s mind to flashback to a life-changing year of his life. It all becomes clear in the Spillerville Warriors
