Saving Daniel

This is crazy I use to go to school with Samantha and I actually played at her house with her when we were little. She loved her her brother so much and she always had a heart of gold and I’m sure she still does and her mother and father were very sweet people they were the kind of people that would give the shirt off their back. I will be purchasing this book. And to the family may god bless you all and my sincere condolences to all of you.????

This memoir speaks to all of us who have struggled with anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, sorrow, pain, feelings of not being enough, feelings of not doing enough and the need to "fix it". We all have struggles. While this is Sam's journal to her brother, we can all see bits and pieces of ourselves in this family's journey. Read it. You will cry and that's ok. Share it when you're done with it. Someone else needs it too. Someone needs to know that they are not alone. You are not alone.
The author did an amazing job of sharing the story of Daniel. Very well written. The back and forth in the timeline from past to present worked well and made it all the more relatable. Because life is never as easy as start to finish. Life takes us in circles and loops and back again.
A book well worth the read.

It takes a lot of courage to allow the public “in” when it comes to something so private and tragic.
Daniels heart was pure and kind. I know he’s as proud of you as I am.
