Book Synopsis
While Louise and her husband taught in New England and raised their two children, a simmering interest in bird watching evolved into a lifetime of passionate quests for birds on seven continents!
Author of the children's book, Old Man, Goodbye, and avid, world-traveler birder, Louise now invites veteran or novice birder watchers to share her love and memories of birds through her new book, On the Wing, Journal Notes of a Birder.

Since I spent many days with Louise and encouraged her to write the book, I am sure most bird watchers will be pleased reading her pages. Louise writes with a nice friendly style and made contacts easily in the field which lead to a number of lasting friendships.
Many of the photographs are exceptionally good.

Louise's book reads like the journal that it is, as if she is telling her day's experiences to a special friend who she knows loves people and birds as much as she does. She always has something upbeat and entertaining to say about every day in the field. I love it when she and her husband slog around in the rain all day or get lost and never find the "quest" bird they are hoping for, and then something good will happen and she ends the day's entry with, "and it was a lovely day!"

I can't wait to read this book! The excerpts are so enticing! I know it will be wonderful and I plan to give one to my brother in law who also is a birder. Thanks
