Mosby Woods - A Great Place to Live

In the summer of 1961 two key events occurred that would change the Town of Fairfax, Virginia forever:

1. On June 27 a dedication ceremony was held for the new community of Mosby Woods

2. On July 1 the Town of Fairfax became an Independent City by order of the Circuit Court of Fairfax County

At the time, these events seemed to be unrelated to each other. With fifty years of hindsight it is clear that each had a great influence on the other.
