Book Synopsis
Peace ends for young Quante and his tribe, the Monlinthians, when a bloodthirsty and warmongering tribe, the Azalrians, descends upon them to conquer and pillage all they can. The Monlinthians must fight for their defense and survival, and Quante himself is swept up in the fight, ready to do what he must. Unbeknownst to Quante, however, is another, more ancient reason the Azalrians have their sights set on his tribe. When this secret conflict reveals itself, Quante must decide what he will do to preserve both his tribe and his identity.
