Book Synopsis
A collection of life stories from African America Abe Steadman’s descendants of Giddy Swamp Township, Aiken County, South Carolina. Abe was born in slavery about 1833. He was married twice and produced 21 children that have spread across the south and migrated north for a better quality of life and employment. They've encountered many struggles and misplaced family members are still untraceable. In our genealogy search, we've encounter many Steadman relatives that were not related to our tree, however, we've document their conversation and family tree outlines within this book. Enjoy the quest of Abe’s offspring’s and how they've grown.

My name is Harry T. Steadman. I believe I am related to the person described in this book. As of today I have not read the book. However I intend on doing so. I hope that it's very informative to the legacy I apart of and proud to be so.

I'm the great great great great granddaughter of Abe Steadman. This is an amazing achievement for our entire family. I thought I'd never know my ancestors and here they are, can't wait until the next reunion!

This book sounds wonderful I would like to know if any last names such as Landy are connected to this family. My great grand father name was John Marcellius Landy his sister was Gertude and Mona Bess Landy. Two sister was once to believe to be first school teachers in that area. There mother was Sarah Landy Reeder. I was also told of and indian (Cherokee) named Chainey was also from the Giddy Swamp area just asking.
Thank you

Hello,

My name is Jeneynne. The great-great-great- grand-daughter of Reney Steadman second youngest daughter of Abe Steadman out of 21 kids. I'm the great grand-daughter of Ruth Lee. I just learned of my family yesterday at a family reunion in Philadelphia, PA 2017. I had a great time learning facts and details of my family that I never knew still exist until maybe 3-4 years ago. I will be purchasing this book. And hopefully I could meet more family.
