Magdalena Gallegos was born, raised and has lived in Denver, Colorado all her life. She started writing in her forties and has never stopped. She is best known for her Hispanic history of Auraria, Colorado which she started researching, writing and publishing in the 1980s. She received her journalistic training while writing for community newspapers, The Urban Spectrum and El Semanario. She has also written and produced a play, “Sueños,” and published SouthWest Magazine in the 1990s. She continues to work on her first novel, hopefully to be published before she passes to the spirit world.
