Book Synopsis
This is an inspirational story about a quadriplegic, taken from the prime of his life, who finds a way out of the short and desperate lifestyle, typical to most quadriplegics. Friendly Freddie, his mother called him from the time he was little. That never changed much. Growing up in an upper-middle-class town gave the illusion of good home life. Nothing could be further from the truth. From an early age, around difficult family problems, and working long hours to help with the financial problems of his family, this would be the easy part. After he broke his neck, losing the ability to move his arms or legs, it wouldn't be more than two or three years before he would be facing these problems alone. In his mind, it was live on his own or die trying, but living in a nursing home was out of the question. Not only does he survive, but reaches above the challenge to help others along the way. Positive thinking, an iron will and his wit were the tools he used to survive the unsurvivable including three murder attempts, and to escape the short and limited lifestyle, destined to most quadriplegics.
