“Ever wanted to read about the Kentucky park system through the lens of a Kentucky native? This book delivers! Steve and his father, Richard, have crafted a book that not only guides you through the history of the Kentucky Parks System and their favorite parks, but you also enjoy their stories and become part of their family as you read through the funny narratives, view their family pictures, and understand what makes Kentucky Parks so unique! Steve and Richard take you deep into the park system and consolidate all their favorites into a concise guide filled with the treasures they have enjoyed for over 20 years of using the park system. It’s fun, witty, and just downright enjoyable! It’s everything from a quick reference guide to a fun Sunday afternoon read to learn more about a park you are interested in visiting. You may even have a Big Foot sighting…so beware! :) “

“I loved the book. I found myself picturing the family reunions and the kids playing, the boat adventures…. Your book reminded me of that (the memories of being a part of the Park management system). Note: You spoke about your love for Kenlake, your honeymoon there, and family reunions. Kenlake was one of only a few segregated parks in history. Not something for our country to be proud of, but it is a significant part of history. I truly tried to honor the Cherokee Park when I worked at KL (Kenlake) and wished we were able to do more.”
