Book Synopsis
Many Christians have difficulty reconciling the Biblical descriptions of Creation with the origins of life as revealed by modern science. However, there is no conflict between modern science and ancient scripture, only a contrived conflict between modern science and a modern reading of ancient scripture, a reading that is tragically displaced from historical and cultural contexts and uninformed of ancient literary devices. This book situates the scriptural accounts of Creation within their proper historical, cultural and literary contexts. Because this book examines the stories of creation as found in the Torah and the Christian Bible, it addresses that which may be of interest to Jew and Christian alike. However, this book is written primarily for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, drawing from additional Latter-day Saint scripture and authority.
