This is an excellent book. It gives the reader an inside view of what it's like to be the child of a missionary who's been called to an exotic continent halfway around the world from his home country. Many people have probably never considered the challenges missionary children face. One can almost feel the heartbreaking separation of family members when the author is uprooted from the only place she considered "home" (the Australian outback), then transplanted to Canada for schooling, and finally, returned to the country of her birth, the United States. Intriguing and difficult to put down. I recommend that you read "Footprints and Fragrance in the Outback" first, however, as that tells the story of the author's parents and their challenges in getting to Australia.
