Book Synopsis
My mom, Marcella Mills Smith, or “Cella” could make something to eat even when the cupboard was bare. I loved being in the kitchen with her and as you can see here, she loved to cook. She was the one girl with four ornery brothers to Elaine and Glenn Mills in Lemmon, South Dakota in 1932. They moved to western Montana during the dust bowl settling in the Bitterroot Valley. Her mom owned and ran Elaine’s Café in Lolo, Montana so we are all inclined to love the kitchen, too. This book is a tribute to mom’s recipe box and in the process I am capturing her handwriting (and other’s) which blessed the recipe cards. It would have been a shame to just copy the recipe without capturing the card itself with all the stains included. It will please most any sweet tooth for sure. I sure miss and love her because everything did come “with love from Cella’s Kitchen”. She lived most of her adult life in Albuquerque, New Mexico and enjoyed a long career retiring at the age of 80. She is forever loved.
