Book Synopsis
The power of choice stands between a young girl and her destiny. Billie Rae Skinner has never believed in her own ability to change what she feels is fate. Through the love and protection from those in this life, and the life beyond, she finds the strength to overcome the past and trust in a better future. This story of survival serves as a reminder of the preciousness of life and the need for forgiveness. The past can be burden that makes the journey impossibly slow, or a lens that sharpens the vision of what is to come. Through the grace of God, one young girl comes to discover that the bonds of motherhood can never be broken.

I couldn't put it down. Whittaker's character development had me in love with Billie Rae from page one. Each character was as real to me as if they were sitting right beside me in my family room. My heart broke for Billie Rae as she was forced to make tough choices no teenager should have to make and then had to learn to cope with the unexpected repercussions. Always Mama's Boy makes the reader examine some of their life choices and how the support of a spiritual background influenced those decisions as well as the reaction to them. Whittaker creates a strong spiritual support system for her readers as they follow the characters through their story and life choices. She made me rethink some of my reactions to past life choices. I can't wait for her next book.
