Book Synopsis
Welcome to the "Agape Leadership Seminar". Dr. Jon K. Maner said: "Leaders are typically endowed with power, and power can corrupt (Kipnis, 1972). Power is operationally defined as having control over resources, which affords the ability to influence others by bestowing or withholding those resources (Magee & Galinsky, 2008). Instead of wielding their power for the greater good, some leaders may be tempted to use their power in self-serving ways". But this is not the Christian way. Leadership God's way is always motivated by agape love; defined as "seeking the highest good of another". This seminar is set within the context of a parable; a story representing lost humanity in the presence of unconditional love (which is the nature of God). These truths are centered around the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15). More than a story about a lost son, this is about two sons who are lost in different extremes; the younger son: in lasciviousness (away from home), and the elder son: in legalism (while still at home). But more importantly, the primary focus of the narrative is the gracious father who presents God as He truly is.
