This book reminds me of when I was a child, when I was happy. When I had no cares in the world. I weep for Gaius, and his family. This period piece displays the utmost knowledge and understanding of the time period, that makes you feel like a Roman soldier. One with your battalion, knee deep in the perils of war. This book explores themes of loss, discovery, love, and hatred. I find myself so often lost within its pages. Its themes truly explore this human experience. The overarching story of the Acolyte series is one that goes unnoticed, softly hiding below your nose. It evades detection at every turn. Right when you're about to unveil the mystery, the book twists and it turns leaving you just as lost as you where on the first page. Thank you, shalom, and piece be with you. Amen
