Book Synopsis
Christian, Physician, Archeologist, Historian, Philosopher, Anthropologist, Theologian, Humanitarian.
As those who knew him well understood, Bill Hodges was ALL these things. Volunteers and co-workers at Hopital Bon Samaritain universally remember sitting at table with him after a long day's work, listening to him share his constantly evolving thoughts on mission and Haiti. He was a lifelong student who sought out and read original sources in English, Spanish, and French. Over the years he developed a philosophy of Christian mission that found it's way into missionary newsletters unlike any others. These eventually were collected into the series of essays that make up this book.
"Twenty-two years in Haiti have convinced me that all human beings are yearning for and moving towards that splendid vision of redemption in an orderly universe ruled by a God of love and the Christ of Gethsemane."
William H. Hodges
