I wrote this book in hopes it will spark some much needed conversations in our community in order to create a movement that will encourage us to do better as parents, teachers and students. In it I discuss the devastating effects of the "hood mentality" that educators have to deal with on a daily basis. The effects of the "hood mentality" are far reaching and creates a negative cycle that prevents our community from being successful. This book is raw and real, and may upset some people. The truth is like medicine, you're not going to like it but it's good for you!

About The Author
Mr. Henry Washington Jr. is a product of the public school system and a graduate of Dillard University an HBCU in New Orleans LA. He has also been an educator for over 20 years and has shed his blood, sweat and tears helping his students overcome many obstacles that prevent them from being successful. He has dedicated his life to educating kids from all walks of life and continues to promote the message that education is the key ingredient to being successful.
