Book Synopsis
Peter Rubalcaba began his writing career as a way of entertaining his 2 young children. His first efforts were stories told by "Old Mr. Hop" and included "Runner the Camel, Smooth Harry (The Flying Worm) and Billy the Bat."
His story Seventeen Cents tells the tale of his early efforts to raise enough money to go to a Saturday matinee at the local theatre: "The Dumps."
Since those early days, Peter went on to spend 4 years in the Air Force where he traveled at the government's expense in Germany, France and Italy. In later years he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of living on a 170 acre farm in northeastern Indiana where he and his wife raised their family.
He currently enjoys the title of grandpa and spends his days on a farm in southwestern Michigan.
