Book Synopsis
The First Will Be Last by Robert D. Berning is one of the most exciting and thought-provoking books that I have read. The author clearly states that what he has written came to him in a time of worship and adoration of God. Holy Spirit is ‘downloading’ fresh revelations of His Word at a rate few of us have known before and The First Will Be Last is, I am certain, one of those downloads. His grasp of Genesis 3, the Fall, the importance of the blood, the vastness of what Jesus accomplished for the human race on the cross is, for me, thrilling. More than that, it is (as you would expect from a revelation) paradigm-shaking. The criterion for accepting any teaching of scripture is, does it honour and lift up the Lord Jesus Christ? The answer is, yes - most emphatically it does. Another criterion is, obviously, is it scriptural? The author presents scripture and word-searches that can be easily understood and verified, while humbly offering challenges to our long held beliefs.
