Book Synopsis
The Eternal Cycle (Collected Stories and Poems) is a collection of new and previously published fourteen speculative short stories and a selection of poems, gleaned from more than twenty years of publishing in the small press. The Eternal Cycle is a superb and diversre collection of speculative short stories. The characters are fascinating, well-rounded and expertly delineated. The plots are intriguing and, often, with very unexpected endings. A number make you want to stand up and cheer. There are dark and light stories, some terrifying in their implications and others hilariously satirical. Sharp social commentary is also never far from Ms. Raschke's quiver of barbed arrows. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and recommend it highly for any reader who wants entertaining and thought-provoking material combined.

I give this book five stars

This collection of stories and poems is a combination of fun and harrowing stories about humans that we can relate to--with satisfying or scary endings that make you think and possibly cringe; they include science fiction, fantasy, and real life horror stories that are on our doorsteps now.... I enjoyed the striking ideas and beautiful imagery in the poetry also. Highly recommended.

Author Sandy Raschke’s The Eternal Cycle is Out of This World! Really! This book of standard narratives and speculative/sci-fi fiction follows the tradition of famous fantasy writers like Jack Finney. I particularly liked the stories with the sci-fi angle. From Iris who battles a computerized vending machine to Pederson Newcastle who has bought a franchise of “Dreamers Universe,” the characters in The Eternal Cycle often match wits with scientific progress. It’s a love-hate relationship with the future.
Techies will have a field day with this book since it appeals to the post-modern taste while oldsters can get up to speed with the younger generation. The stories are humorous, engaging and thought provoking. Hang on to your hats, Earthlings, and let your imaginations go with The Eternal Cycle.

A superb collection of short stories and poems. Sandy's striking imagination takes you to far flung galaxies and the bowels of computers and vending machines. Her style is gripping, laced with tension and a streak of humor. Each story is unique and, once started, impossible to put down. I admire her freedom to cast through the universe and time, to promote strange characters and, in the end, leave you both pondering and laughing.

I'm not yet a great fan of sci-fi, fantasy, horror found in speculative fiction. But I'm a great fan of Sandy Raschke and her work. Her poems are exquisite, and, if I re-read the stories again, perhaps I'll change my mind. If you enjoy this/ these genre/s, you'll love this book.
