Book Synopsis
This story begins with a bronze figure. Haller Fountain, a Victorian-era fountain depicting Venus Rising from the Sea, has stood at the center of Port Townsend, Washington since 1906. The centerpiece figure is called locally by the name Galatea. The sculptor is unknown. The fountain was purchased in 1906 from a catalog. Galatea: Heart of Port Townsend details this fountain's history and its significance to a charming and durable seaside city. The book is lavishly illustrated and includes artist renderings of Galatea by photography, watercolor, mono-print, and collage.

For a version of this book that includes color plates of contributing artists' works (at a modest increase in price) contact the author directly through her website--carapacearts.com--or purchase in selected venues in the Port Townsend area.
