Book Synopsis
Why are we here? How did we get here? What’s wrong with our world? Can it be fixed? Is there truth that doesn’t change? What’s life? What’s death? What’s love? What does God expect of us? What’s going to happen in the future? What can I do about my past? Does God care about me right now?

We all have these questions. This book starts the process of discovering some answers. Five minute chunks at a time.

“Ask My Pastor, He Knows That Stuff” is a quickstart guide to what Christians believe, written with grace and humor by a non-theologian for other non-theologians. It’s an antidote for the pervading postmodern deconstruction of absolutes.

“If you do not listen to theology, that will not mean that you have no ideas about God. It will mean that you have a lot of wrong ones.”
– C.S. Lewis

“There are five authors whose books I’d pay to read. Alan makes six.”
– Pastor Andrew Higgins

“The time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine!”
– God: 2 Timothy 4:3

Puts Denominations in Perspective
January 3, 2014
By David Fairbanks

Have you ever wondered if you were sprinkled, should you have been dunked? This is your book. Have you ever been a Baptist in a Catholic service and wondered, " Should I believe that or not?". This is your book. Have you had a child or a friend ask you about your faith, and you were slow to answer because you weren't quite sure and you did not want to mislead them? This is your book.
Ask My Pastor outlines beautifully the truths we hold in common with all other Christians. This is what Jesus wants you to know about following him. Readable, understandable, uplifting, and unifying, this book breaks down all the barriers that divide and isolate the family of Christ. Armed with these truths, you can worship God joyfully in any place, at any time, in any church, with every other human being who has bowed his knee and declared that Christ is Lord.

Entertaining Treatise of Serious Theology
January 3, 2014
By Earl R. Godwin (Albuquerque)

Alan's approach is geared to youth, but is applicable for all ages. As is stated on the back cover: "It is…simply an antidote for the pervading postmodern deconstruction of absolutes." Alan's treatment of biblical application to the current culture's worldview
is excellent. Readers with a Young Earth perspective will feel quite comfortable with all that is said. Those with an Old Earth
perspective will, never-the-less, find many very intriguing insights into today's culture's departure from God's Word. I recommend this book as an excellent investigation of the divergence of the current culture from the teachings of Scripture.

Good stuff is not hard to find in this book !
January 3, 2014
By Andrew Higgins

This book is great because, the author has found a way to communicate life changing and eternal information that is vital to all ages of people. Young people will especially enjoy the light but serious style of dealing with life's most serious issues. Adult will not hesitate to recommend or give this book to a child or a grandchild. Some people who are afraid they don't know the Bible will enough to share it with others, may find this book easier to share while being just as serious in content and doctrine. This book is profoundly serious while being well organized and in some places very funny. Buy it; Read it; Share it; Believe it; Give it away. However, never forget what the author has shared from his heart and most important what he has shared from God's Holy Word.

Finally, a book on doctrine that I can understand!
January 3, 2014
By Molly McHenry

In a culture that spurns denominations, many Christians have been left out of the great doctrines (and saved from lousy doctrine, of course) that comes with a long faith tradition. I hear so many Christians in churches say, "we are just here to let people know they are loved"…well, that's nice, but we have Kindergarten teachers and the Beatles for that; how can a church go deeper?!?! Robertson's book is the answer. This book is well organized and so much easier to read than some other books on the subject. A great first step for those needing deeper answers in life!

This is definitely standard, evangelical, dispensational Christian theology
January 4, 2014
By Mark Pitrone "objective observer" (NE Ohio)

Much of standard Christian theology is absolutely correct. But much is as traditional as that of the Pharisee sect of Judaism. The standard, dispensational, evangelical theology is well presented, though. So, I would absolutely recommend it to those who believe that that is the only path to truth. I will be using it as a reference tool to teach the truth, some of which will come from its pages and some of which will be taught in spite of what is presented there.

Thank you Alan Root Robertson.

A good read!!
January 5, 2014
By William Johnson

I just finished this book today!! It is a thoughtful treatise on Christian principals that is refreshingly understandable. This book is useful both for the Christian who would like help explaining these beliefs to others as well as young people or adults that are trying to search for the Answer. I will definitely use this book as a reference in formulating my explanations of Biblical principles in the future.

From Bruce Baber: Ask My Pastor, He Knows That Stuff!, is needed in so many homes. It covers a broad range of subjects and gives clear, understandable answers to the kinds of questions most people wrestle with. Questions involving love, death, miracles, truth and much more. If you don't have a pastor to ask, then this book is for you. If you do have a pastor, this book is still for you. The author makes the subjects easy and writes on a level you don't have to be a theologian to understand. I highly recommend it.
