Book Synopsis
BLACK HISTORY

What inspired me to write this poems starting with SLAVERY is simple, my son is of African origin and I started asking my Mother in law where they came from and she said: ”Ivory Coast”, from there they brought us to the Dutch Colony which is Suriname, our name Weigle is a Swiss name there was a Swiss Monastery. Then we moved to America and inspiration hit me again when I visited South Carolina and I wrote the first poem of this book, “The South”. This is my contribution to Black History Month 2017 and I hope it will be well received. This book is like a necklace with a lot of different beads but in the end they all fit together and make a design that will hopefully catch your eyes and talk to your senses.
